Around 50 lodges and a similar number of bands will assemble at the foothill of the Sperrins for the 329th celebrations of the Battle of the Boyne in Donemana.

The west Tyrone village will host a total of six districts with lodges representing Killen, Sixmilecross, Fintona, Newtownstewart, Omagh, and Strabane all on parade.

You will see a spectacle of banners and bands ranging from pipes, accordion & flute. This year will also see some street performers including Lambegs, Highland Dancers and much more. Adding to the celebrations there will be a kids play area with the obligatory bouncy castles and street traders with an array of thematic merchandising items.

The main parade is due to leave the assembly field on the Longland Road at 12.30pm and proceed past Allen Park, down the Main Street via Lisnaragh Road before turning onto the Berryhill Road where the demonstration field is located.

The guest speaker is Bro Rev. Mervyn Gibson Grand Secretary, Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.

Among the platform party will be Strabane Worshipful District Master, Mervyn Rodgers and District Masters from the visiting Districts. County Tyrone Deputy Grand Chaplains, Bro. Rev. Nigel Reid, and Bro. Rev Alan Irwin will lead the religious service.

As part of the build-up to the Twelfth, Strabane District No 14 will hold a number of events. These include our Annual Somme Parade in the village 28th June; a charity cricket match at Donemana Cricket Club 5th July and our eleventh night celebrations will include a BBQ, Bouncy Castles, Face Painters, Balloon Modeller etc. and music provided by the fabulous Barron Accordion Band & D.J. Harry Potter.

All roads through the village will be closed from 11am with diversions in place but Car Parking is available after this time on the perimeter of the village at all entry points. We would ask all attending to please take advise from the stewards present.

We would ask all visitors that require Blue Badge parking to be in place adjacent to Donemana P.S. by 11am as these spaces are limited.

Street Stall Holders will require a licence and this can be obtained by contacting Derry City & Strabane District Council - (028) 7125 3253 (Licensing and Safety Advisory Group)
