Upwards of 30 Lodges and accompanying bands will take part in the annual Twelfth in Ballymena.

The town is the only one in Northern Ireland which has a Twelfth demonstration every year.

This year the honour of hosting the parade belongs to the members of Galgorm LOL 239.

Orangemen and 16 bands, accompanied by a number of Lambeg drums, will assemble on the Wakehurst Road. The demonstration which starts at 12.30pm will proceed to the demonstration field at Galgorm Playing fields – via Larne Road, Larne Street, Salisbury Square, Harryville Bridge, Bridge Street, North Road, Galgorm Road, Galgorm Roundabout and Raphael Way.

This year one of Ballymena’s oldest lodges Ballymena Golden Star LOL 491 are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the formation of their lodge.

Also, there will be two new banners on display this year belonging to Slatt LOL 475 and Ballygarvey LOL 746.

The guest speaker at the field will be the past Grand Master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland, Robert Saulters.

Other senior Orangemen in attendance will include County Antrim Grand Master, Robin Matthews, and Grand Chaplain Rev. Ian McClean who is also a member of the host lodge.
